كان الدكتور خالد الخطيب رجلاً مميزاً، فقد جمع مؤهلات ومواهب عديدة، فهو طبيب ، موسيقي، شاعر إضافة إلى أنه كان مناضلاً نهضوياً ومتنوراً بامتياز، ناضل بشجاعة وإقدام ضد المستعمر الذي كان يجثم على صدر الوطن وتعرض في سبيل ذلك للسجن أكثر من مرة والنفي خارج الوطن، وناضل إجتماعياً ضد العادات والأفكار المتخلفة المعوقة لنهوض المجتمع. وسيجد القارىء باطلاعه على هذا العمل كيف أن الخطيب طرح أفكاراً وآراء منذ قرابة قرن لا زلنا حتى اليوم نتهيب طرحها إلا مواربة. وعلى الرغم من حياته القصيرة فقد ترك آثاراً ومواقف تجعله بحق واحداً من رجالات الأمة الذين تجد فيهم الأجيال الطالعة السنة وتستمد منهم العزيمة والقوة.
ولا يسعنا هنا إلا أن نشكر ونقدر الأستاذ محي الدين غنيم على ما بذله من جهد في البحث والتنقيب ليعيد لهذه اللوحة ألقها وبهاءها.
