كما سهّل النقل بوسائله السهلة والرخيصة (المائية) إستغلال مناجم المعادن الفلزية واللافلزية من أماكن تواجدها إلى المواقع الصناعية، كما ساعد النقل على تطور ونمو الإنتاج الزراعي كسهول البراري الأمريكية والكندية والروسية والأرجنتية والصينية، نتيجة تواجد خطوط السكك الحديدية والنقل النهري والبري في تلك المناطق، وزادت أهمية وسائل النقل بعد إختراع وسائل التبريد في وسائط النقل المختلفة التي ساهمت في نقل المواد السريعة التلف مثل اللحوم والألبان من مناطق الوفرة إلى مناطق العجز في تلك المواد ونقلها من الأرجنتين ونيوزيلندة واستراليا والبرازيل والهند وغيرها إلى الأسواق الإستهلاكية في العالم، ويحتوي هذا الكتاب على نحو خمسة عشر فضلاً.
