يدور موضوع الكتاب حول التجربة الشعرية عند محمد مردان. لذا سعى صديقه الدكتور والأكاديمي "محمد صابر عبيد" أن يعد كتابا يختار نخبة من الأساتذة الكتاب والنقاد لكشف وإضاءة تجربة الشاعر، وحرص الناقد المعد للكتاب أن يشارك ببحث إلى جانب البحوث التي احتواها الكتاب الموسوم "فضاء الكون الشعري من التشكيل إلى التدليل - مستويات التجربة الشعرية عند محمد مردان". وجاء البحث بعنوان: من حيث المقدمات وفيه يتحدث "عبيد" عما يشبه ذكرياته الأولى في دخول عالم الكتابة والنشر وصداقته مع الشاعر محمد مردان حيث يقول:" تكاد تكون شخصية محمد مردان الشعرية والإنسانية واحدة داخل كيان واحد ووجود واحد. إذ ثمة تماهٍ منقطع النظير بينهما، فهو شاعر في إنسانيته وإنسان في شاعريته ..."
يتكون الكتاب من أربعة فصول، وكل فصل يضم عدة مباحث، وكل مبحث يتخذ له عنوانا رئيسياً ومدخلاً وعناويناً فرعية عديدة وهي:
الفصل الأول: المستوى الرؤيوي والتناهي ويضم 1- فضاء الرؤيا ورمزية الحلم/ د. شادان جميل. 2- شعرية التضمين القرآني/ مصطفى مزاحم. 3- توظيف اللهجة القرآنية في النص الشعري: الجواز والشبهة/ آمنة محمود.
الفصل الثاني: المستوى الأدائي والتشكيلي ويضم: 1- أدوات التعبير الشعري: دلالية العتبات وفضاء المتن النصي/ د. سعود أحمد يونس. 2- سيمياء الصورة العنوانية والتكوين الشعري / د. محمد محمود الدوخي. 3- سردية الحكاية الشعرية الصورة والمشهد / علي صليبي المرسومي.
الفصل الثالث: المستوى المهاري والتقاني ويضم 1- علامة المفارقة: بلاغة التركيز الشعري / د. محمد صابر عبيد. 2- تعدد الأصوات: رؤية في تحليل الخطاب الشعري / د. عباس حسن جاسم و د. سهام محمد حسن، 3- الذاكرة وإيهاج المخيال الشعري / فاروق مصطفى.
الفصل الرابع: المستوى السيميائي والأسلوبي ويضم 1- سيمياء الحزن: مقاربة علامية في تجربة محمد مردان الشعرية / د. فيصل القصيري. 2- حوارية العشق (قراءة إستنطاقية) في ديوان (الأيادي القصية) / د. أحمد جار الله ياسين. 3- إستفهامية الرفض وإشكالية القبول / عبد الكريم يحي الزيباري، 4- شعرية الحب وقصيدة الومضة / أحمد حسين الظفيري.
