يغوص الناقد السعودي سعيد السريحي في كتابه هذا على عالم الشاعرالسعودي محمد الثبيتي قارئاً تجربته الشعرية من خلال مناهج عدة سعى الى توظيفها في سياق النص النقدي. ويوضح ابعاد «التهجي» الذي اختاره عنواناً لكتابه في كونه كفعل (تهجيت) يحمل في داخله معالم الخطوات الأولى نحو عالمين يبدوان منغلقين، ويحتاجان ضرباً من المعاناة في تفهمهما وولوج سديمهما.
والتهجي برأيه، محاولة للمضي خطوة خطوة باتجاه ما هو مستعصٍ على أن تتحقق قراءته دفعة واحدة، اضافة الى ان التهجي يحمل في الوقت نفسه استعادةً للطفولة التي ترتبط بمرحلة التهجي ومحاولة اكتساب القدرة على القراءة. التهجي يعني في ما يعني عجز القدرة التي كانت مكتسبة عن قراءة ما يحاول الشاعر قراءته والشروع في اكتساب قدرة جديدة تمكنه من قراءة ما هو بصدده من لغة جديدة يرسم معالمها الحلم تارة والوهم تارة أخرى.
