يسلط هذا التقرير الضوء على واقع الجيش الإسرائيلي 2000-2012، ويتناول القسم الأول منه تأسيس الجيش الإسرائيلي وأهدافه، ويتحدث في القسم الثاني عن الوحدات والتشكيلات العسكرية في الجيش الإسرائيلي وتقسيمات الأسلحة فيه.
كما يعرّج على الخدمة الإلزامية في الجيش الإسرائيلي، والأزمات التي تواجهه، ويشير للمناورات العسكرية الداخلية والخارجية.
ويعرض القسم الثالث للعلاقات الإسرائيلية العسكرية الخارجية، وأبرز تلك العلاقات كانت مع الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، مع ذكر بعض الدول التي أقمت معها "إسرائيل" علاقات عسكرية.
ويختم بقسم رابع يتناول المشاكل والتحديات التي يواجهها الجيش الإسرائيلي، من تراجع قدرة الردع، واختلال استراتيجية نقل المعركة، وتضرر استراتيجية التفوق العسكري، والتغيرات في البيئة المحيطة سياسياً وعسكرياً، وضعف العمق الاستراتيجي.
