تحت عنوان "شعرية المكان" يقدم الدكتور إبراهيم أحمد ملحم قراءة في شعر مانع سعيد العتيبة، عبر محاور أربعة هي: شعرية المكان، والنص المركزي، ودوائر المعنى، ونواة النص، ويبدأ بمقدمة تمهد للدخول في التحليل النصي مستخدماً المنهج التكاملي الذي عُرف به في خطابه النقدي "كان الخطاب عندي يتشكل في سياق من الحرية، همّه الأكبر إضاءة النص، وإضائة طبيعة حركة (الأنا) الشاعرة التي تعي كيف تحرك في داخلها لظى الفن، وتعد الشعر وجوداً يحقق الذات في الحياة، ويترامى إلى الخلود". يتبع ذلك فصلان: الأول – ذاكرة المكان: قراءة في ديوان "المسيرة" : "تجربة الشاعر العتيبة في ديوانه "المسيرة" تمخضت عن وعي عميق بضرورة الإنسان بثرى وطنه، والإفادة من الماضي من أجل الحفاظ على الحاضر ...". وهنا يقسم المؤلف ديوان "المسيرة" إلى خمس شرائح: الأول والخامسة، تمثلان نقطتين أساسيتين للأنا الشاعرة، أما الشرائح الأخرى، فتمثل المراحل التي مر بها شعب الإمارات. وهذه الشرائح مجتمعة هي: نقطة بدء (الأنا) الشاعرة، وصيد اللؤلؤ، والكساد والتفرق، والبترول، ونقطة إنتهاء الأنا الشاعرة ... وأما الفصل الثاني: المكان الأنثى: قراءة في ديوان "ليل طويل" تجربة الشاعر العتيبة في ديوان "ليل طويل" من التجارب التي تجسّد فيها هذا الدافع الثوري ضد ما يحول بين الحرية والفتة التي يرمز بها إلى فلسطين؛ إذ تكررت صيغة النداء "يا فتاتي" في خمسة وثلاثين مقطعاً من مقاطع الديوان البالغة خمسة وأربعين مقطعاً ...". وفي هذا الفصل يقسم أيضاً المؤلف الديوان إلى ثماني شرائح: الأولى: جماليات الماضي، والثانية: الرؤيا القاتمة، والثالثة: معاينة الواقع، والرابعة: الذات تندب وتقارن، والخامسة: الأجيال تسأل والتاريخ يدوِّ، والسادسة: الإعتراف، والسابعة: الشاعر العاشق والحب المعُادي، والثامنة: الرؤيا المشرقة. وأخيراً: تقاطعات نصية مع شعر العتيبة، وإضاءات من الخارج، وتقاطعات نصية مع الشعر العربي.
