إن جميع الذين اجتمعوا معي في رفقة ليل سماع الأغاني هم الآن ليسوا سوى صورة مؤطرة بسواد الذكرى على جدران غرف نومهم. الباقي الوحيد هو: أنا. الحالم الذي دمعت عيناه لموت بغل. فكيف يموت أولئك المتوردون كما النجمة الصافية. ولكنهم ماتوا، وعلى المتخيل أن يذكرهم واحداً واحداً. كما يذكر الأب أسماء أبنائه المهاجرين إلى المنفى. ومتى نسي واحداً بسبب الشيخوخة. سوف تسقط دمعة من عينيه تحمل صورة الولد المنسي.
لقد كان الشمال الجبلي ذاكرة أرغمتها الحروب لتحمل الوجع والنار المشتعلة في أفواه البنادق والدبابات. وكان الجنود البسطاء والقرى الهادئة بعضاً من وقودها.
ويبدو أن الكل في الحرب يدفع الثمن، ووحدها الذكريات من تعزينا وتحمل مع لذة التذكر اشتياقاً حاراً لتلك الأماسي الجبلية الرائعة. لسكانها الفقراء من رعاة وفلاحين وطفولات تتناغم مع آرياتها لتكون أو لا تكون. لكنها دائماً بقيت لتكون. هواجس حلم أو صوت ناي. أو طلقة بيشمركه يبحث عن حريته في صمتنا ونحن نرتدي خوذ الحرب. ليس لأننا نريدها. بل لأن مواليدنا دعتنا لنلتحق في الجندية.
