قدّم الشاعر المرهف الحس، ديوانه الشعري هذا، باللغة العامية، التي من المفترض أن تقرّب أكثر روح الشاعر وحساسيته الفنية، من قرائه الذين سبق وأن سمعوا نماذج من شعره بعد أن غنَّت له السيدة فيروز أكثر من ست عشرة أغنية من كلماته منها: «زعلي طوّل»، «أسوارة العروس»، «لبيروت»، «لما ع الباب»، «يا ريت منن»، «فيكن تنسوا»، «طلعلي البكي»، «أسامينا»...وغيرها.
يبقى الشاعر أميناً لذاته وللمضامين التي تهمه والتي يعتبرها الأهم في حياته وفي حياة شعبه، والتي يعبّر عنها بلغة شعرية تقع على مسافة قريبة من العقل والقلب معا. بالرغم من أنه يقول في شعره: "مرات/بقرا هـ الشعر/يللي/كتبتو/بحس إنو/مش إلي!"
العائلة حاضرة على الدوام في مضامين شعره، وبشخص أمه على وجه الخصوص: "..دقيت /باب أوضة نوم أمي. فت./بِست مخدّتا/شمّيت/ريحة تيابا بالخزاني، قطفت/خصلة ياسميني/معلّقا/بيضا/بباب البيت،/وفليت."
وفي قصيدة أخرى:"قديش/إمي/زنودها/مراجيح/بيضا/وصدرها مخدّة يمام،/وحضنها/دافي."
يستعمل الشاعر المرادفات التي تشكّل عناصر عالمه ووسائل تعبيره: الأرض، العصفور، الشتا، الياسمينة، الريح، والغيم والشمس وكل عناصر الطبيعة التي لا تفارق طبيعته العفوية في انتمائها وفي صدقها، وفي حلمها الذي لا يتلخص بهذه الكلمات:"كل المطارح بالأرض/شعبي،/وأرضي،/ووطني/دمعه إذا نزلت ع أيّا خدّ،/خدّي بمسحو."
شعره عبارة عن لوحات وصور جميلة، مجبولة بالشفافية وحب الجمال وبمتعة الحس الفني: "قال /الدهب،/إنو/لحن/ناي القصب،/بالعيد،/بيعمل شرانق سكر/حبوب/العنب/ومن كل حبي/بتطلع/فراشة/نبيد".
و"شو في فرق ما بين عشبي وبين عشبي يا دني!/عشب الأرض طالع من نزول الشتي،/وعشب القبر طالع/من دموعي". يقدّم هذا الديوان لمحبي الشعر باللغة العامية ، متعة خالصة في القراءة التي تغني الذهن وتنمي الحس الجمالي في آن.
