يحاول هذا الكتاب أخذ القارئ معه في سفر فلسفي، نتمناه أن يكون مفيداً وممتعاً، من أجل إكتشاف مجموعة من القضايا والإشكالات الفلسفية المتنوعة، والتي تنتمي إلى مجالات متعددة: ميتافيزيقية ومعرفية وقيمية وجمالية، ومن أجل الوقوف عند حلول ومقاربات مقترحة لها من طرف هذا الفيلسوف أو ذاك، وذلك طبقاً للأسس المعرفية أو المذهبية أو الحدسية التي تصدر عنها رؤاه وتصوراته.
وقد اشتمل الكتاب على فصلين وملحق؛ فتضمن الفصل الأول تأملاتنا حول قضايا فكرية وفلسفية متعددة، كما احتوى على مقالات متنوعة عالجنا خلالها الكثير من الإشكالات التي خاض في مناقشتها فلاسفة ينتمون إلى عصور فلسفية قديمة وحديثة ومعاصرة؛ ابتداء من أفلاطون وأرسطو، ومروراً بديكارت واسبينوا وكانط، وانتهاء بهيجل ونيتشه وجون راولز.
أما الفصل الثاني، فقد احتوى على قراءاتنا لمؤلفات فلسفية بدا لنا أنها تحتوي على أفكار ومسائل وقضايا غابة في الأهمية، بالنسبة لأي تكوين فلسفي عميق ورصين، خصوصاً حينما يتعلق الأمر بفلسفة لايبنتز، أو بالتاملات الميتافيزيقية لديكارت، أو بنظرية المعرفة عند كل من ديفيد هيوم وكانط، أو بتصور هيجل لتاريخ الفلسفة.
وفي ما يخص الملحق، فقد أثثناه بمجموعة من النصوص الفلسفية التي لها ارتباط مباشر ببعض القضايا التي تضمنتها سواء مقالات الفصل الأول أو قراءات الفصل الثاني، وذلك من أجل أن نجعل القارئ يطلع عليها في مصادرها الأصلية، وتكون له حافزاً من أجل توسيع مداركه فيها بالرجوع إلى الكتب التي اقتطفناها منها.
