صدر هذا الكتاب بعد جهد استمر عامين قام فيها المؤلف باستطلاع عالمي لمواطن المتغربين فوقف على دوافع وبوادر الهجرات العربية في التاريخ ودور المغتربين العرب فيها ودرس أحوالهم الإجتماعية والإقتصادية والثقافية والإعلامية وزار أكثر مؤسساتهم في كل من آسيا وأمريكا وأفريقيا واستقصى حقيقة تعدادهم في أكثر مناطق العالم ورأى بأم عينه مدى الإمكانيات الهائلة التي كانت وما زالت بعيدة عن إستثمارها في تنمية الوطن من خليجه إلى محيطه وأورد فيه دليلاً باللغة الإنكليزية شاملاً تاريخ حياة الرجال اللامعين والمرموقين في الوطن والمهجر وقد كان لهذا الدليل أثر كبير من البدء في توثيق عرى التألف والربط بين أبناء الوطن في شطريه المتغرب والمقيم كما كان خير سفير للوطن العربي في شتى أنحاء المعمورة وأنها لدعوة صادقة إلى كل مغترب أينما كان لإرسال نشرة موجزة عن حياته مباشرة إلى المكتب العربي للإعلان بدمشق ليصار إلى نشرها في هذا السجل التاريخي.
