يُعد قانون الجنسية من المواضيع المهمة في القانون، فقانون الجنسية هو الذي يحدد مواطني الدولة ويحدد كذلك من هم الأجانب. وتعد التفرقة بين المواطن والأجنبي من الأمور المهمة فالمواطن له حقوق وعليه واجبات، تختلف عن حقوق الأجنبي وواجباته. أما بالنسبة لكيفية اختصاص الدولة بتنظيم مادة جنسيتها فكل دولة حرة في تنظيم مادة جنسيتها حسب ما تقتضيه مصلحتها العامة فهناك دول مثلا تبني جنسيتها على حق الدم من جهة الأب دون الأم، وتأخذ بحق الإقليم استثناءً، ومنها المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية ومعظم الدول العربية وهناك من الدول من تبني جنسيتها بناء على حق الإقليم. فكأصل عام إن الدولة حرة في تنظيم مادة جنسيتها إلا ما يرد عليها من قيود اتفاقية، ولا تعتبر في الحقيقة قيوداً لأن الدولة ارتضت بها طوعاً. وفي هذا الكتاب درسنا مادة الجنسية الأردنية وأحكامها في بابين تعرضنا خلالهما لمعظم مواضيع الجنسية وأحكامها في القانون الأردني. آملين من الله أن أكون قد وفقت في ذلك والله الموفق.
