يأتي هذا القاموس ثنائي اللغة فرنسي - عربي ليغني المكتبة القانونية بحكم الاحتياج الملح لتعريب أي حكم أو أي مصطلح قانوني وترجمته. ويخدم هذا القاموس بالدرجة الأولى طلاب الحقوق والباحثين في المواد القانونية والمشتغلين بها. وقد شمل إلى جانب المصطلحات القانونية مصطلحات في التشريع والاقتصاد. وقد جاء القاموس موسعاً ضم الآلاف من تلك المصطلحات بالفرنسية ومقابلها بالعربية. وقد كان واضع المعجم المحامي فيليب أبي فاضل حريصاً على إيراد المصطلح مع ذكر المصدر واسم الفاعل واسم المفعول منه وغيرها من المفردات التي تغني المعنى وتبيّن معناه وتصريفاته النحوية بدقة، وذلك بالفرنسية وبما يقابله بالعربية.
إلى جانب ذلك أغنى المؤلف قاموسه بمسردين واحد لاتيني - عربي ومسرد آخر عربي - فرنسي. هذا وأن هذا القاموس استدعى من واضعه مراجعة أكثر من ستين معجماً، ومن لغات مختلفة، والهدف مساعدة ذوي الاختصاص من طلاب ومحامين وباحثين قانونيين وليكون هذا القاموس لبنة في البنيان العلمي والثقافي.
