تتجه الحياة التعقيد والسرعة وهي بطبيعة الحال تثير شهوة الاندفاع لتحقيق السلطة، والسطوة، والتعالي والظهور الأمثل، لذلك تشكلت الأسباب الرئيسية لجميع الجرائم وحالات العنف والاضطهاد في العالم، التي أدت الى ظهور الأمراض النفسية والعصبية ، كما أدت إلى ظهور تعددية في أشكال العنف التي منها ما كان نفسياً أو اجتماعياً أو اقتصادياً، وقد أدى هذا التنوع في العنف إلى خلق مساحات موحشة داخل الذات الإنسانية بوصفها الحاضنة والمتلقية للعنف .
وبما أن المسرح يعد من أكثر الفنون تأثيرا على الناس وهو صورة للحياة وأداة فاعلة في عكس المضامين الإنسانية , وتوضيح الإشكاليات التي تعتري بنيتها فقد أسهم بتوضيح أشكال العنف فيها وسعى لإيجاد المبررات في تخطي أسبابه والارتقاء بالوعي إلى ما يخلق حالة من الانسجام والتوافق. ومن هنا وجدت الباحثة في موضوع العنف مادة خصبة للوصول إلى أشكال العنف الاجتماعي ومدخلاتها في النص المسرحي ,أي أن النصوص المسرحية الحديثة المعاصرة اتخذت من موضوع العنف موضوعا محوريا لها حيث أظهر المسرح معطيات العنف كما هو ممارس ضد الممتلكات وضد الأشخاص لأنواع متعددة من المتلقين في وقت واحد, أحيانا بقصد التخويف وأحيانا أخرى للتهديد، وأخرى لإيجاد الحل المناسب لتلك المعضلة ، وذلك من اجل صنع نص مسرحي جديد يهدف للدفاع عن المجتمع الإنساني عن طريق انتشار الوعي الثقافي الواعي للتصدي لكل أشكال وأنواعه.
