تميز الأدب المسرحي عبر العصور ، بأرتباطــه الوثيق بتناول المشكلات الإنسانية وقد كان لهذا التفاعل المشترك مابين النص كنتـــاج فني ، والحياة وأزماتها كمادة داعمة له ، الأثر المهم لما طرأ على النص المسرحي من تحولات على مستوى الشكل والمضمون ، وقد وصل هذا الأمر إلى قمته مع نتاجات مسرح اللامعقول ، حيث كان الأخير من أشد التيارات المسرحية التي تعاملت تعاملاً خاصاً مع هذا الجانب حتى غدا البناء الفني في مسرحية اللامعقول يتخذ شكلا خاصا ً لم يتوصل إليه سابق كما وغدت المضامين تتجه صوب مسارات أخرى ، تتجاوز الجزئيات التي تركز على الوضــع الأسري ومشكلاته كما كانت تنادي بها المسرحية الواقعية والتعبيرية والرمزية لتثير التساؤلات التي ترتبط بوجود الإنسان ومصيره وموقفه من الحياة وكينونته بشكل ثوري محتدم .ونظراً لما يمثلــه هذا الأمر من أهمية تتصل بالتجديد على مستوى النص المسرحي العالمي ، ولِما تمخض عنه أيضاً من تأثيرات على المسرحية العربية المعاصرة التي أخذ البعض من كتابها يحذو حذو الكتـّاب الغربيين في تقديم نصوص أعتمدوا فيها تطبيقات مسرح اللامعقول ، وبفعل عدم توفر دراسات معمقة تستشف مدى قيمة وأهميـــة هذه التطبيقات في المسرحية العربية المعاصرة أو تسلط الضوء بشكل كاشف عليها.
