لهذا الكتاب اسم آخر: المرقبة العليا فيمن يستحق القضاء والفتيا وهو كتاب وضع فيه مصنفه نبذا" من الكلام في خطة القضاء وسير من بلغ من القضاة رتبة الاجتهاد وحكم القاصر عن تلك المنزلة في استنباط الاحكام، ومن يجوز له التقليد ومن لا يجوز من الناس، وصفات المفتي الذي ينبغي قبول قوله، وقد اشار المصنف الى ان كتابه هذا سيشمل على اربعة ابواب ونحن لم نعثر الا على بابين : الاول في القضاء ومشاكله والثاني عبارة عن مجموعة تراجم قضاة مغاربة اكثرهم اندلسيون وهذا الكتاب وثيقة مضيئة في تاريخ قضاة الاندلس بدءا" بالدولة الاموية وانتهاء بالفترة التي عاشها صاحب الكتاب وهي القرن الثامن الهجري وهذه طبعة مضبوطة وعليها تعليقات وفي آخرها فهارس علمية عامة للكتاب.
