والدولة السعودية الثانية هي وريثة الدولة السعودية الأولى، فعلى الرغم من سقوط الدولة السعودية الأولى وإنهيارها من الوجهة والمفهوم السياسي، إلا أنها تركت في البلاد السعودية مقاومات قيام الدولة السعودية الثانية، إذ ظلت أفكار دعوة الشيخ محمد بن عبد الوهاب ماثلة في قلوب الناس وأذهانهم، وظل المجتمع يكن ولاءاً للأسرة السعودية التي تبنت الدفاع ضد حملات محمد على باشا والدولة العثمانية وولاتها، وبالتالي كان قيام تلك الدولة في كيانها السياسي والديني، وهو أمر أتسم بصفة الشمول والإستقصاء في هذا البحث.
