لم يقتصر الكتاب في الدراسة التي تناولها على تاريخ العثمانيين فحسب، وإنما تصدى أيضاً لعلاقة الدولة العثمانية مع الوطن العربي الكبير الآسيوي والأفريقي، من حيث مسائل ضم هذا الوطن إلى بوتقة الدولة العثمانية، وما لحق ذلك من تنظيمات إدارية وعسكرية عثمانية فيه.
