هذا الكتاب هو الثالث في سلسلة الطريق الى الاستقلال, يتناول من أكثر من جانب خطة (فك الارتباط) التي أعلن عنها شارون في مؤتمر هرتسيليا نهاية عام 2003, ثم بدأ يكشف أسرارها وأهدافها هو وعدد من كبار مساعديه. وجاءت خطة فك الارتباط لتضع خارطة الطريق على الرف ولتطرح نفسها بديلاً إسرائيلياً عنها, بات هو المتداول على الصعد المختلفة. ويحاول الكتاب أن يلقي الضوء على أهم بنود الخطة ويكشف مخاطرها وأهدافها, نازعاً عنها رداءها الإعلامي المضلل, ليبرز وجه الحقيقة فيها, بما هي خطة تموه على نفسها بإعادة الانتشار من قطاع غزة لتضع الأساس المادي للحل, كما تراه تل أبيب, والذي من خلاله يتم ابتلاع المزيد من أراضي الضفة الفلسطينية, الأمر الذي يقطع الطريق على أية إمكانية حقيقية لقيام دولة فلسطينية مستقلة ذات سيادة, وقابلة للحياة. كما يحوي الكتاب قراءة لجدار الضم العنصري بما هو مشروع استيطاني خطير يشكل أحد المرتكزات الأساسية لخطة فك الارتباط. فيقدم الأصل الأيديولوجي والسياسي لولادة الجدار, ويسلط الضوء على مساره ومخاطره وآثاره على الحالة الفلسطينية وكيف قدمته الدعاية الإسرائيلية, وما هو موقف القانون الدولي منه, ممثلاً في القرار الاستشاري لمحكمة العدل الدولية, وقرارات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة, منتقداً أسلوب القيادة السياسية للسلطة الفلسطينية في معالجتها لملف الجدار وترددها وإحجامها عن خوض معركته للنهاية. الكتاب حافل بالمراجعات السياسية والوثائق باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية, يحاول أن يرتقي الى مستوى الحدث الذي تجابهه الحالة الفلسطينية على ضوء المشروع الإسرائيلي.
