هذا الكتاب هو ثمرة مؤتمر عقدنه الجمعية اللبنانية لفلسفة القانون بعنوان "تفسير النصوص القانونية" في 23 كانون الثاني 2015 في فندق لانكستر تامار Lancaster Tamar الحازمية، ييروت. هدف المؤتمر الى التعمق بإشكالية قانونية فائقة الأهمية وهي تفسير التص القانوني. يضع المشترع القانون والقاضي يتولى تطبيقه. إلا أن القاعدة القانونية بحاجة لتفسير لأن المشترع لا يسعه أن يلحظ جميع الحالات، ثم أن الكلمات تتغير في معناها تبعاً لتطور المجتمعات في الزمان والمكان. ناقش هذا المؤتمر مسائل نظرية وعملية مرتبطة بهذا الموضوع. أحياناً النص الواضح يفرض نفسه (تطبيق حرفي). ولكن في أغلب الأحيان يكون قابلاً للتفسير في عدة وجوه وتالياً على القاضي والمحامي اكتشاف المعنى عبر البحث في نية المشترع (الأعمال التحضيرية للقانون)، وكذلك استناداً الى طرق منطقية في التحليل: القياس التشابهي أو التفسير بالتشابه، التفسير الضدي raisonnement a contrario ، الخ.. ننشر في هذا الكتاب المحاضرات التي ألقيت في المؤتمر وهي أبحاث لأخصائيين كبار في هذا المجال: قضاة لهم باع طويل من التمرس (د. غسان رباح، جون قزي، سامي منصور..) وأساتذة فرنسيون (نور الدين سعدي وألين فيلمان) ورجال دين كبار من مختلف الانتماءات المذهبية واساتذة جامعيون من اختصاصات متنوعة لإضفاء مقاربات متعددة الجوانب للموضوع (الدكاترة محمد المجذوب، مروان قطب، جورج سعد، أسما شملي.. الخ.).
