يشكل التمرين العملي الوجه التطبيقي للقاعدة القانونية، فهو يأتي بواقعة أو بوقائع معيّنة تطرح أمام الباحث القانوني مسألة قانونية أو أكثر بحاجة لحلّ، بغية إيجاد هذا الحلّ، لا بد من البحث عن القاعدة القانونية الملائمة وإن عملية الإختيار هذه هي أدق عملية في الممارسة القضائية والقانونية إذ تتوقف على حسن الخيار سلامة الحلّ القانوني وصحته.
كما أن تقديم المسألة القانونية وعرضها وتحديد النقاط القانونية المثارة ومناقشتها، كل ذلك يتطلب تقنيات لا بد من إتقانها حتى تأتي الحلول ضمن منهجية عملية صحيحة.
في سبيل توفير هذه التقنيات، قام المؤلف، ضمن كتاب رائد من نوعه، بوضع توجيهات عامة لحلّ المسائل والتعليق على القرارات القضائية ووضع الإستشارات القانونية وكتابة الأبحاث الثانوية تقدمت كل قسم من أقسامه، ومن ثمّ وضع خمساً وسبعين مسألة للحلّ.
وبما أن قرارات المحاكم تكرس في الواقع حلولاً لمسائل طرحت، قام المؤلف بوضع اثنين وخمسين تعليقاً على قرارات وأحكام قضائية يُطلب إبداء الرأي فيها بعد تحديد النقاط القانونية المبحوثة فيها والحلول التي أعطيت لها.
وبما أن الإستشارات هي من صلب عمل رجل القانون، فقد وضع المؤلف عشرين نموذجاً لإستشارات تتطلّب الإجابة عليها مبيناً المنهجية التي يجب أن تُتبع في وضعها وتقديمها.
وأخيراً، قدّم المؤلف خمسين موضوعاً للبحث في القانون المدني.
