تجد بتراء نفسها فجأة, عرضة للمس من كائنات خفية أو لا مرئية, فيتشوش اتساقها مع العالم الاجتماعي الذي تعيش فيه, وتنقذف في تجربة ميتافيزيقية كيانية تطرق أسئلة الوجود والحياة والموت والمصير. تنشطر بتراء في تجربة المس هذه إلى ذوات متعددة متراكبة, وكثيفة نفسياً, معلقة مابين المحسوس والمجرد, المرئي والمجهول, الواقع والمطلق, الإنسان والله, العابر والأزلي, النثري والشعري. غير أنها تحول تجربة المس إلى تجربة معرفة. والرواية تعطي الأولوية للغة التواصل مع الكون, ويكتشف الإنسان من خلالها نسبية موقعه في كون يتجاوز الكوكب الرضي. وتحاول الكاتبة من خلال الرواية أن تفلسف العلاقة ما بين الطيني و الناري, الفاني والخالد في الكون ولعل العودة التخييلية إلى ذلك الموروث الذي تعج به حياتنا الرمزية ومروياتها التخييلية, ومحاولة إعادة اكتشاف السرد التخييلي العجائبي الشعبي روائياً, وهو من أبرز ما يميز الجانب العجائبي, وقد غدا حبكة تجربة الغواية تجربة المعرفة.
