عنوان الكتاب بحد ذاته لم يُثِرْ خيالي، فقد ظننتُ أنه مجموعة مقتطفات، وهذا ما بدا لي طبيعياً جداً، فأنا أعرف أن هذا الشخص لطالما كان متحمساً لدراساته.
بيد أن المضمون مختلف تماماً، إذ إنه عبارة عن مذكرات، لا أكثر ولا أقل، كُتبت بعناية، وعلى الرغم من أن تعليقاً على حياته لم يبدُ مشاراً إليه كلياً، وبحسب ما أعرفه عنه من قبل، لا أستطيع أن أُنكر، بعد أن ألقيتُ نظرة على هذه المذكرات، أن العنوان قد اختير بكثيرٍ من الذوق والفهم، شاهداً على تفوق فني وموضوعي حول نفسه وحول الوضع.
فهذا العنوان متناسق تماماً مع المضمون كله، فقد كانت حياته محاولة لتحقيق مهمة العيش شعرياً، ولكونه متمتعاً بقدرة متطورة إلى أقصى الحدود لإكتشاف ما هو هام في الحياة، فقد عرف كيف يجده، وبعد أن وجده، عرف كيف يعيد إنتاج ما عاشه مع لمحة نصف شعرية.
