هذه دراسة في الدرس اللساني المعاصر، تنتمي إلى حقل اللسانيات العصبية التجريبية، تعالج قضية اللغة البشرية من منظور عرفاني؛ بحيث يكون البحث مركِّزاً على علاقة اللغة بالدماغ البشري، من أول عمليات الإنتاج والتكوين الداخلية، حتى التلفظ والتواصل على الألسنة.
وقد فرضت طبيعة البحث أن تتقاطع الدراسة مع عدد من العلوم الأخرى، مثل فسيولوجيا الأعصاب الطبية، وبعض نتائج الدراسات السيكولوجية العصبية، ونظرية الإبستمولوجيا العامة بتداخلها المنهجي مع علوم الفيزياء والرياضيات والفلك... إلخ.
كما تعرضت المباحث لمسائل أنثروبولوجيا اللغة ونظريات الحفريات البحثية الفاحصة للدماغ (الآركيولوجيا) والتطور، ومسائل بيولوجيا اللغة والجينات الوراثية وعلوم الأحياء... إلخ.
فاللسانيات العصبية العرفانية هي مجال واسع يجمع بين كثير من العلوم التجريبية، بغرض الفهم الشامل للغة الإنسانية الممثلة لقمة الإعجاز الإنتاجي للعقل البشري وتطور قشرة الدماغ.
وبالتالي، تأتي هذه الدراسة بوصفها تأسيساً علمياً لقضايا لقضايا اللغة الإنسانية، من خلال المداخل البيولوجية التطورية، والمداخل الإدراكية، والعرفانية، والعصبية... إلخ في إستقصاء شامل لمعظم الظواهر الممكنة في إرتباطها بكلام البشر.
ويسعى البحث أيضاً إلى التطبيق العملي للكثير من المعطيات والفرضيات؛ فالدراسة تستعين بالأدوات العلمية التطبيقية التي وصل إليها علم الأشعة Radiology المعروفة علمياً بإسم Non- Invasive Techniques: أي التقنيات التي لا تقتضي فتحاً جراحياً، ومنها على سبيل المثال الرنين المغناطيسي الوظيفي FMRI والعادي MRI والتصوير المقطعي CT- Scan والــ Trans- Cranial Magnetic Stimulation، والبوزيترون PET... إلخ.
والرسم المخي الكهربائي EEG Electroencephalogram، كما سيتضح في الكثير من بنود المباحث المختلفة.
وما أريد تأكيده هنا هو أن إبستمولوجيا النموذج العصبي اللساني عرفانيةً إلى درجة بعيدة، ومرتبطة بشكل إلزامي بمنعطف السلوك التطوري العام للظواهر الحياتية، التي تدخل الدراسات اللسانية قطعاً في إطارها؛ ذلك المنعطف الذي جمع بين اللغة بوصفها سلوكاً رمزياً علاماتياً (على مستوى ما من مستوياتها) وما يقابلها من إستعداد جيني لأجل تعلم ذلك السلوك.
