Book Description
يدور هذا الكتاب حول سيرة وكفاح "شكري العسلي" أحد رجالات العرب الذين عملوا في مطلع القرن العشرين من أجل إستقلال عرب المشرق عن تركيا، ومقاومة الأطماع الصهيونية في فلسطين.
ومع إيمانه لفترة طويلة، من عمره القصير نسبياً، بالرابطة العثمانية، فقد كان أحد الشباب الذين مهدوا فكرياً وعملياً لإنضاج فكرة القومية العربية في بلاد الشام، وخاصة في مواجهة تشديد سياسة "التتريك" بعد عام 1908.
وقد دفع حياته في النهاية ثمناً لموقفه العربي، حيث انتهى به المطاف - مع ثلة من قادة الحركة العربية - فوق أعواد المشانق في دمشق، على يدي (جمال باشا السفاح) يوم السادس من أيار / مايو 1916؛ واختتم حياته - كما تورد مؤلفة الكتاب - بقوله تعالى: (ولا تحسبن الله غافلاً عما يعمل الظالمون).
