كاظم الساهر، هذا الفنان العراقي العلم، حملة مواهب في رجل، فهو مغن قدير، وملحن كبير، وشاعر موهوب، وذواقة أدب وفن. لمع نجمه في التسعينات، وكان للبنان الفضل الكبير في إظهار مواهبه، إذ أفسح له المجال لإظهار هذه المواهب، في حين كانت معظم الدول العربية تقفل أبوابها بوجهه بسبب الحرب العراقية. والمتتبع لنشاط كاظم الساهر الفني يرى أن فناننا يزداد تألقاً ونجاحاً سنة بعد سنة، فهو ما برح منذ عشر سنوات تقريباً ينتقل من قمة فنية إلى قمة أعلى، حتى بات اليوم من أوائل الفنانين العب شهرة وإبداعاً وموهبة وصوتاً ولحناً. ويجمع كل أغانيه سلك منتظم من الرومنطيقية الحزينة، والوجع المستحب، والعشق الموله، والأمة الحزينة، والذوق المرهف في وضع الأشعار، أو اختيارها، أو تبديل بعض كلماتها. وقد حرص المؤلف في هذا الكتاب على إثبات بعض ما يغنيه بحرفه كما وضعه مؤلفه الأصلي، ثم النص كما يغنيه كاظم، لكي يدرك القارئ مدى ذوقه الفني، وحسّه الأدبي في التذوق الشعري والموهبة الأدبية، كما وحرص المؤلف على إبراز بعض الجوانب من حياة كاظم الشخصية والفنية مع إثبات كل ما توصل إليه من أغانيه.
