اللغة كائن حي ينمو ويتطور كما قد يندثر ويموت، واللغة العربية ليست استثناء من هذا إلا أن الله سبحانه وتعالى قد خصها بشيء عظيم إذ نزل القرآن الكريم بلغة عربية وبهذا حفظها الله تعالى من الضياع والتحريف والاندثار. قال تعالى: "إنا جعلناه قرآناً عربياً". واللغة الحية أي لغة تؤثر وتتأثر مادامت الحياة ومادام الناس تطرأ عليهم أحوال ومستجدات يحتاجون معها أن يضيفوا إليها ويشتقوا منها ما يسد حاجتهم من الألفاظ والمصطلحات.
ولقد اختلف العلماء في شأن ما دخل اللغة العربية من لغات الأمم الأخرى حتى قال بعضهم أن في القرآن الكريم ألفاظاً ليست عربية بينما أنكر آخرون هذا ونفوا أن يكون في كتاب الله تعالى شيء بغير لغة العرب بينما رأى فريق ثالث أن "الألفاظ الدخيلة تلك أصولها أعجمية إلا أنها سقطت إلى العرب فأعربتها بألسنتها وحولتها عن ألفاظ العجم إلى ألفاظها فصارت عربية وهو قول أبي عبيد.
وقد عكف علماء اللغة على تصنيف الكثير من المؤلفات في ألفاظ القرآن وغريبه وبيانه وتفسيره كما افردوا المؤلفات (للمعرب في القرآن) وعنوا بما في العربية من ألفاظ دخيلة وردت إليها من الفارسي والحبشية والعبرية والأرامية وفي هذا الجزء وهو الثاني من كتاب" نصوص في فقه اللغة العربية" وقع اختيار المؤلف على بعض نصوص في فقه اللغة،شرحها وترجم لأصحابها، وهي في مجملها تبحث في ألفاظ المعربة. ويورد أقوالهم في تأثير الغربية ببعض لغات الأمم الأخرى بعد الإسلام.
