Book Description
فقه اللغة Philology هو علم اللغة linguistics وكلمة philology الإنجليزية ونظائرها في اللغات الأوروبية الأخرى مأخوذة أصلاً من الكلمة اليونانية philologia. والمعنى الأصلي لهذه الكلمة اليونانية هو "حب الكلام" وهو المعنى الذي يدل عليه تركيبها اللغوي. وأول كتاب عربي قديم اشتمل عنوانه على بعراة "فقه اللغة" هو كتاب ابن فارس: "الصحابي في فقه اللغة وسنن العربي في كلامها"، وقد اقتبس ابن منصور الثعالبي عبارة "فقه اللغة" من ابن فارس، وجعلها عنوان كتابه المشهور: "فقه اللغة".
وهذا الكتاب من معاجم المعاني، أي المعاجم التي تصنف فيها المادة اللغوية على أبواب المعاني كالطول والقصر والبيس واللين. وكتاب الألفاظ لابن السكيت هو المثال الذي احتذاه المصنفون في هذا المضمار. فمن هذا ترى أن الثعالبي استعمل عبارة فقه اللغة لمعنى يختلف اختلافاً جوهرياً عن معناه عند ابن فارس... والقصد من هذا الكتاب هو تقديم نصوص في فقه اللغة من آثار القدماء.
وبالعودة لتوزيع هذه النصوص نجد أن اهتمام معد الكتاب قد انصب على توزيع هذه النصوص على ستة أبواب: مسائل عامة في اللغة (يتصل بعضها بعلم اللغات العام)، والتصويب اللغوي (وهو يشمل الفصحيح واللحن" والمعرب، والأضداد والقلب والإبدال، والاتباع والمزاوجة، إلى جانب هذا اهتم معد الكتاب بدعم النصوص بترجمات لأصحابها وبشروحات جاءت في الحاشية لمضامين هذه النصوص.
