إن المبحث الذي يسعى هذا الكتاب كشف الغطاء عنه وإعلان ظهوره حول عقائد الحمى القرامطيّ وأديانه علنًا نظفر بمفاهيم جديدة لفهم الحركات السياسية والمنبثقات المذهبية الإسلامية التي نشطت في السواد العراقي وبالتالي لا يمكن تفسير آراء هذه الجماعات وأعمالها إلّا بالعودة لمعرفة "كُنه" معتقدات الأجداد ومسح التراث العقائدي في ذلك الحمى وحدوده المؤثرة.
وبالتالي وممّا لا جدال فيه أنَّ للتراث العقائدي والديني السابق للإسلام آثاره في عديد المجموعات الفكرية الإسلامية على اختلاف مشاربها، ولمعرفة أيّ إشكال في آرائها لا بدّ من العودة إلى الأسلاف لمعرفة الدلالات والمعاني وتبيُّن الأهداف والغايات، ومن الضّروري الإشارة إلى تفادي التعامل مع المجموعات الكلامية والمذهبية الإسلامية على أنها مجالات منفصلة عن بعضها وعلى أنها بنى متمايزة بشكلٍ تام، وما يجب الالتفات إليه في المباحث والدراسات الحديثة القبول بالتداخل بين مختلف الآراء والطروحات المذهبية وتواصلها بأشكال مختلفة في ما بينها دون إقصاءٍ أو تهميش.
