يتوجه بالدرجة الأولى إلى الأمهات اللواتي يشكلن المدرسة الأولى للأطفال، وهو يتألف من ثلاثة أجزاء، يشتمل أولها على اثني عشر فصلاً، تمهد الثلاثة الأولى منها للبرنامج بالحديث عن قدرة الطفل الرضيع على التعلم، وعن نمو الطفل، وعن خطة الدرس اليومي، بينما تدور الفصول التسعة التالية حول برنامج التعليم المبكر للطفل بدءاً من الشهر الأول وحتى الشهر السادس والثلاثين. أما الجزء الثاني من الكتاب والذي يمثله الفصل الثالث عشر فيعالج تعليم القراءة بعد سنِّ الثالثة طبقاً لنتائج أبحاث العالم الأمريكي التربوي جلين دومان. وينتهي الكتاب بالفصل الرابع عشر الذي يشرح الدور المهم للرحلات التعليمية وكيفية استخدامها كأداة فعالة لتطوير نمو الطفل الفكري وإثارة حب الاطلاع والاستكشاف لديه.
