"أطياف هولدرلين" مجموعة شعرية بقلم الشاعر العراقي "خالد المعالي" يطلق العنان فيها للتأمل، هائماً في عالم الشعر، باحثاً عن أجوبة لأسئلة عبر نصوص شعرية، أحالها إلى مفاهيم وتأويلات؛ تعبَر عن تلك العوالم المرتبكة بالموت والحروب والشوارع ومفردات الفقراء اليومية، في محاولة لزحزحة الثوابت من مكانها فليس هنالك من مطلق والأشياء تأتي نسبية ومتغيرة من حال إلى حال.
هو شاعر يؤمن بالحرية الفردية ويعتبر "أن العالم العربي يعيش مخاضات جديدة، ثمة أسئلة كثيرة تطرح فيه" إنها طريقة شاعرنا في التعامل مع الحياة، ومع الشعر، فهما صنوان، يرسم من خلالهما عوالمه كما يشاء. في "أطياف هولدرلين -1-" يقول: "عندما تجلسون عندنا/ وترون النهار يمضي/ فتنهضون/ لتجدوا أن/ الحياة قد تباعدت أيامها/ والذي كان يجمعنا تلاشى../ عندما تجلسون عندنا/ الحرب تمضي، ونحن نعود/ إلى البيت لننسى الذي كان/ ننام واقفين/ تجردنا الذكريات/ وتلعب الأوهام بنا/ نسير من هنا/ نمد الخيط/ لنسحبه من جديد/ كانت هكذا، الحياة/ وقد تباعدت أيامها/ من هنا".
