في هذا الكتاب جمع عماد بن جاسم البحراني مجموعة من مقالاته ومقترحاته ذات الصلة بالتاريخ العُماني، مع ملحق يتضمن مجموعة من الصور التاريخية للسلطنة. تتناول هذه المقالات مواضيع متنوعة من أهمها:
1- صفحات مجيدة من تاريخ عمان، كموضوع البحرية العُمانية في عهد الإمام سلطان بن سيف الأول ، ودورها المجيد في طرد الغزاة وتحرير عمان والمنطقة ، وملاحقة جيوشهم في الخليج العربي والمحيط الهندي.
2- شخصيات عُمانية بارزة (رجالية ونسائية) مثل:
أ- السيد سعيد بن سلطان البوسعيدي سلطان عمان وزنجبار.
ب - الشيخ الأديب هاشل بن راشد المسكري.
ت - أبو الصوفي - شاعر البلاط البوسعيدي.
ث - السيدة غنية بنت سيف والدة السيد سعيد بن سلطان.
ج - السيدة موزة بنت الإمام أحمد بن سعيد البوسعيدي.
كما تطرق المؤلف في كتابه إلى عدد من المدن العُمانية التي كان لها دور بارز في التاريخ العُماني، مثل: مدينة نزوى وصحار ومسقط وقلهات ومطرح. بالإضافة إلى التعريف بعدد من المواقع والمباني الأثرية والمتاحف مثل: قلعة بُهلا وبيت فرنسا (المتحف العُماني الفرنسي) ومتحف التاريخ الطبيعي والمتحق الوطني.
وختم الكتاب بمقترحات جديرة بالنظر والدراسة.
