هذا الكتاب يتكلم عن تواجد العرب في عمان منذ مالك بن فهم الى يومنا هذا، مع اعطاء نبذه مختصرة عن اهم الائمة والسلاطين الذين كان لهم دور بارز في التاريخ العماني.
وقد قسم الكاتب فترات الحكم التي تعاقبت على حكم عمان الى اسر، مع توضيح دور كل اسرة في مجريات الاحداث في عمان والمنطقة.
يمر الكاتب ايضاً بالحكم العماني في زنجبار مع بيان اصل تواجد العمانيين في زنجبار ،ثم فترة حكم البوسعيد منذ انتقال السيد سعيد بن سلطان للإقامة في جزيرة زنجبار، ومن ثم خلفائة ومدة حكم كل سلطان منهم واهم اعماله والاحداث التي وقعت في عهده، الى نهاية الحكم العماني عام 1964م، مع تفصيل كيف كان الانقلاب ومسبباته والدور البريطاني في نهاية الحكم العربي العماني في زنجبار.
