محمود الورواري إعلامي وأديب وشاعر يكتب والرواية والقصة القصيرة، يعمل في قناة العربية، التي قدم استقالته منها بعد ثورة 25 يناير وعمل في "قناة المحور" ولكنه عاد مجددا إلى قناه العربيه ليقدم عدة برامج منها نشرة القاهرة من مكتب القناة في مصر.
ولد بمركز ومدينة أبوصوير التابع لمحافظة الإسماعيلية, تخرج عام 1990 وعمل في 1991 في القناة الثانية المصرية في البرامج الثقافية وفى 1993 عمل في الـ ART وكان ممن ساهم في تأسيس قناة العالم الإيرانية في 2002.

"يحزن كثيراً إذا نودي على من حوله واستثني هو، إذ أنه حتى اللحظة مجهول مهمل ليس له هوية ولا يحمل اسماً. قضيب حديد.. محض قضيب حديد هذا ما يعرفه عن نفسه، يتباهى أحياناً باستقامته إذا ما تسامر مع رفاقه المحدودين والمتكورين على أنفسهم. يحلم بهوية.. يبحث عن اسم. يثور على الخازن دائماً، ينكمش في جلده إذا ما غمرته رطوبة المكان وتركت قشرتها عليه فالصدأ هو الشبح الذي يدخله زمرة النافق والمعدم، الصدأ هو رسول الموت".
حكايات من واقع الحياة، وكاتب وشخصيات تلبس رداء الرمز، وهي منهكة مطحونة تفوح منها رائحة العرق والأسمال البالية. شخوص إذا سخنت وامتلأت لا تقوم للرقص وإنما تبقى في ثورة.
تتميّز هذه المجموعة بما يمكن اعتباره أنسنة الجماد، إذ يكتب المؤلف قصة عن رحلة قضيب حديد، وأخرى عن مأساة شجرة، وأخرى عن الزجاج المتناثر في الطريق. كلّ ذلك بلغة مكثّفة، شديدة الإيحاء، تنمّ عن امتلاك حساسية شعرية فذة، في قالب تجريبي هو نسيج وحده في التعبير القصصي الحديث.
وُلد محمود الورواري في مصر. وصدرت له مجموعة قصصية بعنوان العزف على وتر مقطوع، ثم مسرحية للأطفال بعنوان حاسب من الغلط، ومجموعة قصصية أخرى بعنوان اختزال من المسافة والسفر، إضافةً إلى روايته الأولى التي صدرت حديثاً وهي بعنوان ردّ اعتبار.
