تاتي هذه الاطروحة الاكاديمية عن مركز نماء ليحاول من خلالها الباحث رسم حدود منهج ابن حزم المعرفي وفلسفة نظريته المعرفية وفق استقراء وتتبع عميق لنصوصه وافكاره. حيث سعى الباحث للتجريد الكلي للمنهج المعرفي الحزمي من بين التراث العريق والمتنوع الذي يمتد على نطاق معارف اليونان المقربة تداوليا من جهة والى المعارف النقلية الشرعية من جهة أخرى فيتسنى بعد ذلك للقارئ ان يقف على معالم ذلك المنهج فيغنيه عن جزئيات كثيرة مبثوثة في صحفه سواء كانت من القسم المندرس او من غيره مما لا مكنة له في الوصول اليه.
ثمة أهمية تكمن في تفرد علماء الإسلام بطرق وأساليب في البحث العلمي قل ان نجدها في دراسات الغرب الحديثة لان الوحي المنزل هو دستورهم الذي يصدرون عنه ومرجعهم الذي يلوذون به.
ينبه المؤلف عدم التزامه بترتيب نظرية ابن حزم المعرفية على الأسئلة الكبرى في نظرية المعرفة الفلسفية لسببين أولهما ان ابن حزم لم يكن بصدد تأسيس نظرية فلسفية في المعرفة مثلما فعل افلاطون قبله او مثلما سيفعل كانط بعده فالسياقات التداولية تختلف جذريا. والثاني ان تلك الأسئلة الثلاثة نفسها تجاوزتها نظرية المعرفة المعاصرة بعد دخول الابستمولوجيا في منعطف تاريخي جديد.
