نقدم لقراء العربية كتاب (تفريج الكروب في تدبير الحروب) عن مخطوط ينشر لأول مرة باللغة العربية، وقد سبق لهذا المخطوط أن ترجم وحقق باللغة الإنكليزية من قبل د.جورج سكانلون في الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة سنة 1961م.
والكتاب يتناول جانباً مهماً من تاريخ الحروب عند العرب والمسلمين، ويتألف من العديد من الأبواب والفصول، ويمثل صورة مشرقة عن تاريخ العرب العسكري، وهو من الموضوعات النادرة في هذا السياق، والتي تؤرخ جانباً من هذا الفن العسكري.
(تفريج الكروب في تدبير الحروب) من تأليف أستاذ الحرب محمد محمد الرشيدي من العصر المملوكي، يؤرخ جانباً مهماً من التاريخ الحربي والعسكري للعرب والمسلمين، حيث ضم في دفتيه أبواباً حول الأمن العسكري في حال السلم من اتخاذ الأسوار والخنادق والحصون ونصب المرايا لمعرفة حركات العدو، واستطلاع أخباره، والعيون والجواسيس، وصفات هؤلاء العيون، وإكرامهم، وما يجب أن يتخلقوا به من أخلاق، وصفات الرسل (السفراء)، والخدع المغنية عن الحرب، وكيفية هذه الخدع، وطرفاً منها، والإستشارة في أمر الحروب وآداب هذه الاستشارة، وصفات مقدم العسكر والجنود والفرسان، وماذا على صاحب الجيش معرفته من مرؤوسيه، وسياسته تجاههم، ومتى يجب ملاقاة العدو، في حال العدو قوياً، أو ضعيفاً، وأحكام الطلائع (رجال الاستطلاع) وخيولهم، والتحرز عند المسير والوقوف والزحف، وشروط ذلك، وترتيب وتعبئة العساكر في كل تعبئة، وحفظ الأموال والمؤن والخزائن، وبيات العدو والصديق، واختيار مواضع المصاف للقتال وكيفية التعامل مع العدو القليل والكثير، والمدافعة عن الحصون وحفظها...
يضع المؤلف هذا الكتاب بين يدي القارئ العربي، وخاصة الجنود منهم وضباط القوات المسلحة العربية، ليطلعوا على جانب مضيء ومشرق من تاريخ الفن العسكري عند العرب والمسلمين.
