أمين الزاوي (25 نوفمبر 1956 في تلمسان) هو كاتب ومفكر وروائي جزائري، شغله عالم الأدب والترجمة، بين اللغات الفرنسية والإسبانية والعربية، كما عمل أستاذا للدراسات النقدية في جامعة وهران، بعد حصوله على شهادة الدكتوراه عن «صورة المثقف في رواية المغرب العربي»، وله عشر روايات نصفها باللغة الفرنسية، ونصفها الآخر باللغة العربية، إضافة إلى مجموعتين قصصيتين. مارس التدريس في جامعة باريس الثامنة، عمل سابقا مديرًا للمكتبة الوطنية الجزائرية. في الجزائر العاصمة. يكتب باللغتين العربية والفرنسية. وآخر أعماله المكتوبة بالعربية هو رواية "الملكة" الصادرة عن منشورات الاختلاف بالجزائر.

وجد الناس مدينتهم هكذا مليئة بالذهب والتجارة ومزارع النحل والعسل الأصلي وروائح البخور و"مثارد" الكسكي المصنوعة يوم الجمعة وقدور "الدفين" من الحمص يوم السبت، رائحة البهارات والشعائر..
الأخضر النحيل ساهياً سارحاً يتتبع بنوع من الكآبة عزف "السطايفي" كان ضرورياً أن يمسح نظارته.. لم يكن يبكي لكنه شعر أنه يجب أن يبكي. أبعد صوره أمه المرحومة من ذاكرته قليلاً، عبثاً أن تعبد صورة الأم من الذاكرة.
جاء اليهود.. واليهود صمت.. صمت الأنهار التي تريد أن تفيض صيفاً.. ملئوا الدنيا تجارة.. تعلم أبناء المدينة الحساب.. فمنعوا تدريس المواد الأخرى فأصروا أن يعلموا أبناءهم الحساب وسورة الفاتحة وأركان الإسلام الخمسة وبعض أشعار أبي نواس وابن سهيل والموشحات، برع الناس في الحساب وتشكلت جميعات لعلوم الحساب وكانت أعظمها جميعة "جابر بن حيان" وجمعية "موسى بن ميمون".
وقبل أن تتحول هاتان الجمعيتان إلى حزبين سياسيين يهدد وحده الدم والمصير، اجتمع أعيان المدينة وكفروا "جابر بن حيان" ومثله "موسى بن ميمون" وحلوا الجمعيتين ورقص الناس في تلك الليلة مثلما رقصوا يوم أول عرس مشترك، ونصبوا في الشوارع الخيام وقدموا المأكولات وأقاموا أعراساً مشتركة...
