يقارب هذا الكتاب: آفاق المسألة الفلسطينية السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية بوصفها من القضايا الجوهرية للبنية الداخلية الفلسطينية، ويسلط الضوء عليها من منطلق نقدها واستيضاحها من خلال المقارنة والمقاربة، لا سيما ما يخص التناقض والحل التاريخي، ومفهوم السيادة والوضع القانوني ومؤشرات التراجع العربي والدولي في ما يخص الحقوق الفلسطينية، وموضوع قضية اللاجئين، ويقدم معطيات وأرقام حول العديد من القضايا، محاولاً إضافة حلول لهذه المعالجة وفق رؤية مستقبلية.
في جانب آخر يسلط الكتاب الضوء في أحد فصوله على التحولات الاجتماعية ودور اليسار والقوى الديمقراطية في المجتمع الفلسطيني والممارسة الديمقراطية الداخلية، ويظهر التناقض الداخلي المجتمعي وما طرأ عليه من تغيرات بعد اتفاقيات أوسلو وتشكيل السلطة الفلسطينية، وما تعيشه من مأزق سياسي داخلي عبر مؤسساتها، هي في موضع النقد والمساءلة لأدائها بطريقة منهجية وجريئة في سياق البنية الداخلية لهذه التحولات والتناقضات التي تتحكم بها. ويتناول الفصل الثالث بها المسار التاريخي والمعاصر للاقتصاد الفلسطيني والقطاعات الإنتاجية الأساسية: الزراعة وقطاعي الصناعة والتجارة في ظل وجود سيطرة إسرائيلية واحتلال. ويضع في نهاية الفصل أفكار أولية ومقترحات حول الخطوط العامة للاستراتيجية الاقتصادية التنموية الفلسطينية، شارحاً آفاق التنمية الفلسطينية المستقبلية.
إن محتوى الدراسة ينطلق من الأولويات السياسية المختلف عليها، وذلك من شأنه أن يقود الى عملية تطور داخلي على الصعيد المجتمعي الفلسطيني ويفتح باب الحوار حول مقومات الكيان الفلسطيني المنشود اقتصادياً واجتماعياً وتنموياً.
