التّفكير ضدّ اللاتفكير، واللاتفكير تسليمٌ وتصد يق،شبيهٌ بالتّصديق الرياَضي القائم علىالبديهات والمسلّمات. والتّفْكير نقدٌ علميّ قائم على حداثة السّؤال العِلميّ المترقّي. لذا كان الشّعر بالأساس نقْداً كما كان النّثر نقدا.
ولذا كان على الشّاعر العالم منذ القديم أن يكون ناقداً، والنّاقد الشّاعرُ لنْ يكون كذلك إلاّ إذا كان مثقّفاً عارفاً بفنون الشّعر النّاقد . فكان أبو تمّام شاعراً ناقداً مثقّفاً بما كان له من مرجعيّة شعريّة متعدّدة، كذلك كان شُعراْء الجاهليّة في حوليّاتهم من أصحاب الشّعر النّاقد المحكّك: الشّعر إذن، علمٌ ناقدٌ، يستثمر خاصّته العلميّة من سائر العلوم ألأخرى، علوم الكشف والظّنّ والتّجريب اللامُحدّد، لاعلوم الشكّ التي هي طريق إلى اليقين حسب مقولة الجاحظ، وإن كان للمعرّي أن يشعر ناقداً قائلاً: "أمّا اليَقين فلا يقين ".
النّقد شكّ لا ينتهي إلى يَقينٍ، والنقد قاسم مشترك بين علوم الفلسفة والشعر والنثر والنقد والمسرح وغيرها من العلوم التّجريبيّة والتّقنية وحتّى الأليكترونيّة اليوم، مروراً بالبُوَيتيقا واللّسانيات والسّيميولوجيا وغيرها من العلوم المُبتكرة. فالنّقد طبْعُ احِتجاجٍ دائِم مُكتسب، وهو ثمرة معرفة بكيفيّات التّفكير العلميّ في مختلف مجالات فنون المعرفة ومراحل تكوّنها المستمرّ.
