تحت عنوان (حد السيف) وبعنوان فرعي (إشتغالات الإباء الفلسطيني في قراءات كاتب أردني) يقدم الكاتب ممدوح أبو دلهوم مجموع مقاربات تقترب من شؤون العرب وقضاياهم المصيرية، وبالأخص القضية الفلسطينية يسلط من خلالها الضوء على ما عتم من قضايا ومعلومات في مرحلة هي الأصعب وربما تكون فاصلة أو إنعطافة في مسيرة القضية الفلسطينية والشعب ارلفلسطيني. قد يفيد منها أي (المقالات) الدارسون المختصون، من الباحثين والمعنيين برصد أو تأريخ الحراك الفلسطيني بخاصة، والعربي فيما يخص المتغير الفلسطيني بوجه عام.
وهي مقالات نشر معظمها في صحيفتي (الرأي) و (الأسواق) الأردنيتين، وفي صحيفة (الزمان) اللندنية أيضاً، وأخرى نشرت في بعض الصحف العربية، وفي الأسبوعيات الأردنية.
يبدأ الكتاب بتمهيد للصحافي الكبير عرفات حجازي، يتبع ذلك ثماني فصول توزعت عليها مقالات الكاتب أولها بعنوان (زهرة المدائن في قلوب الأردنيين) وفيها عرّج الكاتب على إباء المقدسيين في انتفاضتهم المباركة، أما ثانيها وهو بعنوان (وشم الشهادة على جبين فلسطيني) خصصه الكاتب لرموز الكفاح الفلسطيني. وثالثها (روافع الهاشميين في النهوض الفلسطيني) ، وقد غطت أوراقه شهادة الكاتب في ملوك بني هاشم وجلالة الملك عبد الله بوجه خاص، في حمل أمانة القضية الفلسطينية. وجاء رابعها بعنوان (الخيار الدبلوماسي لدى الهرم الفلسطيني) ورصدت أوراقه تلاوين الحراك الدبلوماسي الفلسطيني في الأروقة الدولية. وكان خامسها عن (طائر الفينيق الفلسطيني في اشتغالات الإباء الإنتفاضوي)، وقد انخرطت أوراقه الستة في إضاءة اشتغالات الإنتفاضات الفلسطينية في القطر السليب. وأما سادسها وهو بعنوان (عصابة إسرائيل في التدوين العربي) فيشهد على بشاعة العسكرتاريا الصهيونية بحق فلسطين والفلسطينيين. وكان سابعتها بعنوان (المبادرة العربية بين الأفول والتوهج) وسلط الضوء على حالتي المدّ والجزر لورقة المبادرة العربية. وأما الفصل الأخير فكان بعنوان (شوق السنين نحو قدس اليقين) وقد حمله الكاتب حلاً ووجهة نظر وبحث في نثر الراحل محمود درويش، وموضوعات أخرى ذات صلة.
