هل قالت الجنُّ الشعرَ؟ نعم... هذا ما زعمتْه العربُ في أدبيّاتها، وجعلت لشعر الجنّ مقاماتٍ ومظاهرَ، وأَضْفَت عليه أجواءً من الغرابة، وسمْت الجنيَّ الشاعرَ هاتفاً، ورَئِيّاً، وصائحاً، وشيطاناً.
وما في هذا الكتاب هو نظرٌ تاريخيٌ في هذه الظاهرة (أي إنطاقِ الجنّ بالشعر)، ومقاربةٌ لبعض دلالاتها الإجتماعية والنفسية، ومسعًى تأويليٌّ لما فيها من الغرابة، وجنوحٌ إلى فهم سياقها الفني، وتأمّلٌ لصلتها بمفهوم الشعر عند العرب.
وفيه أيضاً تتبعٌ للظاهرة، ظهوراً وجلاءً، وخُبُوّاً وخفوتاً، ونظراتٌ سيميائية في بعض الأخبار التي حفّت بقول الجنِّ للشعر، وهي أخبارٌ تجلو كثيراً من المعاني، وتكشفُ جملةً من الدلالات، فضلاً على وضعها اليدّ والعينَ على أنماط لطافٍ احتجنها التراث العربي.
وعلى رجائي أن يكون في هذا الكتاب - على إيجازهـ - إضافةٌ علميةٌ ذات قيمة حسنة، يظلُّ بابُ القولِ في هذه الظاهرة الطريفة مفتوحاً على مصراعيه لمن يُدلي بدلوه في بئرها الثرّة.
