Book Description
أبي من جزيرة أرواد وأمّي من الميناء، شاءت الصُّدَف أن يخطبها من دون أن يراها، نساء ذاك الزَّمن منقَّبات، كان كافياً أن تصفها امرأة له، سمراء مستديرة الوجه، واسعةٍ العينين، ممشوقة القَدِّ، سمينة السَّاقَين، عندما زفِّوها إليه على متن البابور، وسط جماعة من النِّساء المشابهات، شدَّتْ على يديه أثناء المصافحة ليعرفها، حملها أبي على متن الأمواج إلى جزيرته الصغيرة، بيوتها تشبه حفنة أرزِّ وأزقُّتها ضيِّقة كالعيون الصينيَّة، بيوتها تشبه حفنة أرزِّ، وأزقتها ضيِّقة كالعيون الصينيَّة، جزيرة عريقة عاد إليها أبي السِّندباد، وفي يده هديِّة العمر.
لكن أمي لم تلد، بالرِّغم من مرور ثلاث سنوات على زواجها، قالتْ لأبي سرِّحني بإحسان، فعادا إلى الميناء الطرابلسيَّة ليتابعا حياتهما، استأجر جدي لأمي لهما بيتَا مثل عشِّ العصفور، يا للدهشة.
حبلتْ بي أمي خلال شهر، إن هواء الميناء يثير اللقاح، أحسَّتْ بالحياة تتحرُّك داخلها، نطفةُ أمشاج من عَرقِ وشمسِ وملح وماءٍ.
سمَّتني على اسم سيدنا المصطفى، فاصطفاني أبي لأصبح بَحَّاراً مثله، كان هو قبطان شراع، أمَّا أنا فأصبحتُ قبطان سفينة.
