تعتبر القيمة الجمالية للروائع الخطية فيما تحمله من استقلالية ذاتها وبذاتها مجردة، من أي معنى أو مفهوم، فلا تنظر إلى لوحة كتب فيها حكمة مثلاً لروعة الحكمة مثلاً والتجربة بل تكون نظرتنا وإعجابنا منصبين على الرسم والشكل فقط حتى لا ينقسم الإعجاب بين المعنى والشكل، فالجمال الحقيقي هو الذي ينكشف للصورة المجردة بعيدة عن الغرض والمنفعة، وهذا لا يتأتى إلا عندما يكون الخط انعكاساً للشفافية الروحية وليس انعكاساً للجسد كما في الرقص أو تصويراً وتحت الأبدان البشرية الذي يرتبط الحكم على جمالها بالغرائز أو الشهوات التي تجعل من الفن مجرد استجابة للحاجة والمتعة واللذات الملتصقة بالأرض.
وهذا الكتاب جاء خصيصاً للحديث عن خط الرقعة بأسلوب تم فيه توخي السهولة في التعبير والابتعاد عن المصطلحات التي قد يجد فيها القارئ شيئاً من الصعوبة، فتناول الخط بلغة بسيطة سهلة وعرض فيه بصورة موجزة عن الأقلام الخاصة بالكتابة الخطية وطريقة بريها ومسكها وزاوية ميلها عند الكتابة ونبذة موجزة عن خط الرقعة ثم ذكر بعض التوجيهات العامة واتبعها بتوجيهات خاصة بخط الرقعة مدعمة بالأمثلة التوضيحية وذلك قبل الدخول في تفاصيل الكتاب ليكون القارئ على علم وبصيرة ببعض المبادئ التي سيتعرض له حلال ممارسته العملية. أما طريقة رسم الحروف فقد ابتع فيها الشرح بصورة كافية كيفية رسمها مفردة ثم متصلة مع جميع الحروف بأشكال اتصالها المختلفة مدعمة بنماذج خطية لتغطية جميع الجوانب التي تهم المتدرب بحيث يصل إلى ما يبتغيه في سهولة ويسر، كما اشمل على خط الرقعة من خلال بعض خطاطي الإعلانات وأساليبهم المميزة وما طرأ عليه من تغيير وتحوير عن أصوله الخطية المعروفة وكيفية رسم هذه الأشكال المستحدثة، وانتهى ببعض النماذج الخطية.
