إسهام نوعي حول وضعية الشباب والتحديات التي يواجهها مجتمع يشكل الشباب نسبة كبيرة من سكانه، يهدف إلى الإجابة على تلك التحديات والمشكلات التي تواجهها الأجيال الناشئة التي يتزايد عدد العاطلين من بين صفوفها سنوياً في منطقة تطفو على بحريات النفط، ووسط العجز عن إيجاد حلول استراتيجية لهذه المشكلة المزمنة في البحرين.
إن المسؤولية في بلوغ الشباب لهذه الوضعية المتردية تقع بالأساس على الجهات المعنية في الدولة فهي لم تقم ليس برصد واقع وظروف ومشكلات الشباب عن طريق الدراسات والمسوحات الوطنية فحسب بل لم تعمل وفق استراتيجية شبابية توظف طاقات المجتمع الشبابية من ذكوره وإناثه في سياسة التنمية، ولا زالت تتصف بالانفراد في القرار ولا تشرك الأطراف الفاعلة في المجتمع معها.
وتكتسب هذه الدراسة، دراسة الشباب وسوق العمل في مملكة البحرين، أهميتها من جانبين: الأول بأن الذي قام بإعدادها باحث موسوعي في معارفه يمارس السياسة كعلم يبرز ظواهر ومشكلات الواقع بأسلوب ومنهجية الرقم الإحصائي في الرصد والمعالجة والدراسة وتقديم الحلول، الأستاذ عبد الحميد أحمد عبد الغفار، أحد الأطر الهامة في الساحة العلمية البحرينية ومساهم رئيسي في هندسة مواقف ومشاريع جمعية العمل الوطني الديمقراطي.
أما الجانب الثاني فهو أن هناك انعدام للدراسات والأبحاث العلمية الجادة التي تدرس قضايا الشباب ومشكلاته في الساحة العلمية البحرينية، بحيث يمكن الوثوق والاعتماد عليها في تقديم حلول للمشكلات التي تواجهها شبابنا في سوق العمل وفرص الحياة وغيرها.
ويمكن اعتبار هذه الدراسة التي سلطت الأضواء على جزء من منطقة حيوية من الوطن العربي، صورة مصغرة عن الإشكالية التي يواجهها الشباب العربي في مختلف أقطاره، مما يشير إلى الأخطار المستقبلية التي تواجه المجتمع العربي برمته، الذي يزداد عجز نظامه السياسي عن تقديم حلول جذرية للمشكلات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية وقبلها السياسية.
