ما زالت الأمة تعاني من التشرذم والتأخر وفقدان العزة والمنعة، تتقاذفها آفات الجهل، وتعبث بها غوايات الأهواء، مثلما تعاني من تسلط المتجبرين عليها من الداخل والخارج، فهي تخفق في النهوض من كبوتها في كل مرة، على الرغم من كل ما بُذل من جهود من منظريها وقادتها ودعاتها.
لقد قُدِّمت مشاريع من أجل إنقاذ الأمة ونهوضها كانت على درجة عالية من الإيجابية من الجانب النظري، لم يكن ليمنعها من النجاح إلا التطبيق العملي، لكنها كانت تصطدم في كل مرة بواقع العلاقات المزيفة التي تربط أفراد هذه الأمة، فتجر القضية إلى إخفاق جديد يضيف جرحاً جديداً لجروح أفرادها، وينتج عنه آلاماً عظيمة تشتت تفكيرهم وتقودهم إلى شاطئ اليأس والشعور بالخذلان.
إذاً فإن البوصلة ليست على ما يرام، فهي غالباً ما تشير إلى الإتجاه الخطأ، البوصلة منحرفة، إنها تشير إلى إتجاه لو استمرت الأمة تسير عليه لنالت المزيد من التشرذم والتفتت والإنحطاط والتخلف إلى حدود بعيدة، أكثر بكثير مما هي عليه الآن.
لقد حاول المؤلف أن يدرس في هذا الكتاب واقع العلاقات التي تربط أفراد الأمة بإعتبارها أحد أسباب الإنحراف وتعويق مشروع النهوض، ولأن الحل لهذا الموضوع في متناول أيدينا، فقد سعى لضبط البوصلة بالإتجاه الصحيح، وذلك بتشخيص الأمراض التي تعاني منها تلك العلاقات ومن ثم وضع الحلول التي تمثل العلاجات لكل واحد منها.
