يُعدّ محمّد عبد الملك من أبرز القصّاصين البحرينيّين الّذين دعموا مسيرة القصّة البحرينيّة منذ السبعينات، فقد أثرى تلك المرحلة بعدّة قصص، وقد طرق فيها آفاقاً تكشف خصوصيّة لها لونها المحليّ، ويبدو أنّها خصوصيّة تسم السياق الحضاريّ الّذي اختمرت فيه النزعة التأصيليّة للقصّة البحرينيّة، وتشفّ عن الرؤى الفكريّة الّتي تحكّمت في روّاد تلك الفترة، والّتي غالباً ما كانت تدعو إلى إستلهام الواقع بتجلّياته وترغب عن المروق عن المستقرّ من التصوّرات المتحكّمة في نصوص تلك الفترة.
ولعلّ في ذلك ما يفضي إلى إشارات كاشفة ومنافذ هامّة تمهّد لنا السبيل إلى تحليل بعض العلاقات التناصيّة في صلاتها بالواقع، وضبط أشكال حضور الراوي فيها.
إنّ ما لمسناه من تميّز للراوي في قصص (عبد الملك)، من بين سائر العناصر، مردّه إلى إلتباس صوته - بشكل بارز - بصوت كاتب يقبع خلفه، ويحمل هموم واقع معيش، ويتأثر بالتحوّلات والتغيّرات المحيطة به؛ وليس معنى هذا أن يكون همّنا هو البحث عن الهويّة الآيديولوجيّة للراوي - بصورة ملحّة - فذلك قد يجرّنا إلى إسقاطات تحيد بنا عن الموضوعيّة الّتي إليها نطمح، وتقصينا عن أساسيّات المنهج الّذي عليه نعتمد في هذه الدراسة، وقد يزجّ ذلك بنا إلى تذويب ذات الراوي الخياليّ، وتضخيم حضور ذات الكاتب الواقعيّ بما يفضي إلى إمّحاه المسافة بين ذات الكاتب والذات الفاعلة في الخطاب (الراوي) من جهة، وبينها وبين الذات الفاعلة في الحكاية (الشخصيّة) من جهة أخرى، وهذا ما لا ينطبق على النصوص السرديّة الإبداعيّة، وإلاّ لتحوّلت إلى شهادات ووثائق وخطابات آيديولوجيّة.
