يتناول هذا الكتاب شرح الإجراءات الجزائية المتعلقة بمادتي أصول المحاكمات الجزائية (1) و(2) التي تدرس لطلبة كليات الحقوق.
وقد كان القانون الأساس في تدريس هذه المادة هو قانون أصول المحاكمات الجزائية رقم (9) لسنة 1961 وتعديلاته إلا أنه وبصدور قانون النيابة العامة المؤقت رقم 11 لسنة 2010 فقد أصبح من الضروري التعرف على ما ورد في هذا القانون أصول المحاكمات الجزائية. وذلك لكي يكون خريجي كلية الحقوق على معرفة تامة بالمبادئ الأساسية للإجراءات الجزائية سواء ما تعلق منها بالضابطة العدلية المساعدة وسواء ما تعلق بالتحقيق الابتدائي وسواء ما هو متعلق بمرحلة الحكومة التي تليها وهي مرحلة التنفيذ وما يرتبط بها من إشكالات في التنفيذ.
ويتخصص القسم الأول من الكتاب والذي سيكون في باب أول لما هو خاص بأصول جزائية (1) والقسم الثاني سيكون في باب ثاني سوف يخصص لأصول جزائية (2). وسيكون الحديث عن الإجراءات الجزائية من خلال النصوص القانونية القائمة عليها من قانون أصول المحاكمات الجزائية وقانون النيابة العامة والتعليق عليها وعرض ما استقر عليه الاجتهاد القضائي الأدرني بشكل خاص وأساسي ثم عرض بعض النصوص القانونية والأحكام القضائية المقارنة.
