لقد كانت عاشوراء وستبقى، الثورة التي لا ينفذ عطاؤها، والمدرسة التي لا ينضبُ معينها، والذكرى التي تتجدَد على مدى الأزمان... إلاَ أن قدر الثورات التغييرية الكبرى أن يتسلَل إليها مع مرور الأيام شيء من التفسير الخاطئ الذي يشوّه رسالتها، أو التوظيف المخادع الذي لا يلتقي مع أهدافها وتطلُعاتها. وعاشوراء هذه المدرسة الخالدة لم تكن بمنأى عن محاولات التزوير والتشويه، لذا كانت بحاجة مستمرة إلى الرصيد الواعي الذي لا بدَ أن تضطلع به الطليعة المثقفة في الأمة للوقوف في وجه كلّ أشكال التحريف والتزوير. في هذا السياق الذي يفضح التزوير والتضليل جاءت موضوعات هذا الكتاب الذي إنطلق – في الأساس- من خلال مقالات كتبت في مناسبات شتى، لكن ما يجمعها هو الحرص على ان تبقى صورة عاشوراء نقيَة نقاء الطهر الذي جسَده أبطالها. وقد تمَ توزيع الكتاب على فصلين أساسيين، يتناول الفصل الأول منهما جملة من المفاهيم المزوَرة التي ساهمت الثورة الحسينية في تصحيحها، وأما الفصل الثاني فهو مخصَص للحديث عن الإحياءات العاشورائيَة في أهدافها وأساليب.
