يتناول التطورات التي عرفتها اللسانيات التوليدية، وهي تطورات مذهلة حقاً قادت إلى ظهور عدد من التصورات الجديدة، يأخذ بعضها ببعض سلباً وإيجاباً، كان من نتائجها المباشرة الدفع باللسانيات التوليدية نحو آفاق معرفية وعلمية لم تكن منتظرة إطلاقاً.
ولعل أبرز ما يكشف عنه تطور النماذج التوليدية حركية النظرية التوليدية، وإنتشارها الواسع عالمياً، لا سيما إذا أخذنا بعين الإعتبار طبيعة الإشكالات التي برزت في حقل اللسانيات، والحلول التي قدمت لها.
كما توضح التطورات المتلاحقة والمتسارعة أن إنفتاح المنظومة النظرية التوليدية على معارف أخرى، مثل، علم النفس المعرفي واللسانيات العصبية واللسانيات النفسية، أو بمعارف علمية دقيقة كالرياضيات والفيزياء والبيولوجيا، كان عاملاً حاسماً وراء نجاح اللسانيات التوليدية وإنتشارها الواسع في العالم المعاصر.
فكان أن التقت اللسانيات والرياضيات وعلوم دقيقة أخرى مثل، البيولوجيا والذكاء الإصطناعي، والسبيرنيطيقا وغيرها من المعارف والتخصصات التي تهتم بمعالجة الأنساق الرمزية أيا كانت طبيعتها وسماتها.
ولم تعد اللسانيات التوليدية مرجعاً في دراسة اللغة البشرية فقط، وإنما احتلت مكانة طلائعية ضمن العلوم الإنسانية بإعتبارها مفتاحاً لدراسات معرفية أخرى، خاصة تلك المتعلقة بالسلوك البشري إجتماعياً ونفسياً وبالمعرفة عند الكائن البشري بشكل عام.
