تعد الجامعة اللبنانية أهم مرفق من مرافق التعليم العالي في لبنان لأنها من جهة أولى تحوي النسبة الكبرى من طلاب الجامعات في لبنان، وهم في غالبيتهم العظمى من أبناء الطبقات ذات الدخل المحدود والمتوسط، ولأنها من جهة ثانية تحوي العدد الأوفر من الاختصاصات في المجالات المختلفة، وأكبر عدد من الأساتذة الأصيلين والمتعاقدين. لكل هذا كان مطلوباً من الدولة أن تولي هذه الجامعة العناية القصوى لتستفيد من إمكاناتها في البناء الوطني وإرساء منظومة قيم متقدمة وتخريج الاختصاصات الضرورية للنهوض والتنمية. إلا أن المسؤولين لم يفكّروا بكل هذا، وهم لم يعمدوا في الأصل إلى التخطيط للتعليم العالي، بل كانت تعترض عليهم إقامة الكليات المختلفة، فتنشأ بشكل ارتجالي وتغرق في مشاكل لا يجري حلها إلا تحت ضغط الشارع الطالبي فتأتي الحلول مجتزأة وقصيرة النظر.
وهذا الملف الذي نقلب صفحاته يعرض لبعض مشاكل الجامعة اللبنانية وذلك لتنبيه من يهمه الأمر، لعلّ هذه المؤسسة تعود إلى مواكبة العصر والمشاركة في بناء الوطن. كما ويعرض للمراسيم التي جاءت لتنظيم عمل كافة مراكز وكليات الجامعة (قسم الحقوق والعلوم السياسية، قسم العلوم السياسية والإدارية، إنشاء معهد الفنون الجميلة، إنشاء كلية الصحة...)، هذا بالإضافة إلى تطرقه لبعض المواضيع الهامة كموضوع الإدارة الأكاديمية للجامعة، وموضوع الإدارة المالية للجامعة... وأخيراً موقف الجهات النقابية من مشاكل الجامعة.
