كان البحث في عدالة النص القانوني، مهنة خليفة بأولئك الرجال الذين يجيدون التطوع للمهام الشاقة التي يسندها الله تعالى إليهم، فلقد بات حريّاً بهم أن يلتزموا حدود التفطن والإحتراز، وإلا تنحيفهم في جزء من أجزائهم إحدى الآفتين، العبودية المطلقة لنسبية العدالة التي يرمي النص إصابتها، أو إرضاء شهوة التسلط حين يقرر الضمير عصيانها، فالقانون ابن المنطق ولا يستطيع المشرع تخطي حدود بشريته عند تدوينه، وكثيراً ما يلتبس على المنطق فهم ما يوحي به الضمير من معان، فالمنطق قد يضللنا أحياناً، أما الضمير فلا.
قُسِم هذا الكتاب إلى أقسام وأبواب، فتضمن الباب الأول من القانون المدني رقم 40 لسنة 1951 والذي تضمن شرحاً موجزاً مبسطاً للمواد (73- 245) منه، حيث عرض من خلال هذه النصوص على مصادر الإلتزام، ومن أن المقصود بمصدر الإلتزام، هو التصرف القانوني، أو الواقعة القانونية التي تنشأ الإلتزام، وبمعنى آخر السبب القانوني الذي يقف وراء نشوء الإلتزام.
أما في القسم الثاني من هذا الكتاب يبحث في الأحوال التي تعتري الإلتزام بعد نشوئه، ويعرض الباب الثاني، شرح النصوص التي تحكم الأوصاف المعدلة للإلتزام، وذلك عبر ثلاثة فصول؛ ففي الفصل الأول منه شرح النصوص التي تحكم الشرط والأجل، أما الفصل الثاني شرح النصوص التي تحكم تعدد محل الإلتزام، في حين الفصل الثالث شحر النصوص التي تحكم تعدد طرفي الإلتزام.
أما الباب الثالث؛ فشرح النصوص التي تحكم إنتقال الإلتزام، وأخيراً الباب الرابع، شرح النصوص التي تحكم إنقضاء الإلتزام.
